The Findings

Jasmine kept trying her parents but had no luck. She stayed with Alex for the rest of the weekend. School came and she realized nobody seemed to realize Antonio was gone except the people who witnessed it first hand. She saw Dominique and Bryant during homeroom. Alex and Jasmine went and sat in the back with them.

“Hey Jasmine, how you doing,” asked Dominique.

“Yeah fine, what about you?”

“I’m doing okay. How’s Alex today,” Dominique said looking toward her.

“I’m alright. Hey Jasmine let’s work on our article. We hardly have anything done.”

            “Yeah, alright.”

They finished homeroom and went to third hour study. Jasmine was in Antonio’s log in on the computer to search his files before they were erased. All she found was some pictures, power points, and word presentations. Nothing unusual for him. Then she tried Gizmo’s. Jasmine could get into mostly anybody’s account. Gizmo’s account proved to be quiet useful unlike Antonio’s though.

            “Hey Alex come here.”

“What did you find now?”

“I was going through Gizmo’s documents and he has Stine High’s past all the way up to every incident to the day he died.”

“So what did you all find?”

“Let’s just say he didn’t tell us everything he knew.”

The bell rang and they wandered into Science. They were talking about ghost stories they’ve read and Mr. Jalu looked very weary about it. Alex noticed almost immediately.

“What’s up his butt today,” she asked when they sat down.

“Not sure, why?”

            “He seems weird today.”

“Isn’t he always,” Jasmine said sarcastically.

They went to Alex’s house after school and Jasmine started talking about the ghosts again.

“What do we here to prove any of this,” Alex asked.

“These,” Jasmine said walking into the house with a stack of papers.

“What are those? Don’t tell me you printed off all of Gizmo’s documents.”

            “Fine I won’t tell you.”

“What do we have to work with and what is our main point.”

“Two kids died and ever since every thirteen years someone in the freshmen class has died. He has every case of death for each kid here except the kids that died this year aren’t listed. So far ten deaths including Gizmo and Antonio. There was only one death every thirteen years except in 1913 where two freshmen boys died.”

“Gizmo was looking into this? Since when,” asked Alex.

“About the same as us I guess according to this journal entry anyhow.”

            “Why? What does it say?”

“Jasmine and Alex. Grade nine, age thirteen. Supposable saw a ghost. First sighting was Stine High’s top stage,” Jasmine started.

“And he though we were obsessed,” Alex responded.

“Here’s some more,” Jasmine continued, “Strange occurrences have been happening since that day. I, Thomas Athena, first found out the same day around eleven thirty a.m. I have been on the case since finding any information possible acting whenever I could. The next occurring incident that I heard was a ninth grader named Antonio Poseidon had gotten his hands in a belt sander during his third hour woods class. Witnesses Jasmine Vulcan and Alex Minerva were unable to stop the machine. He came out alive but he has no hands.”

“Whoa he really was into this,” Alex said.

“I’m just thinking he never told us the entire truth from the sounds of it. This isn’t the same sarcastic Gizmo who went to school with us.”

            “No kidding,”

“It’s starting to get late,” Jasmine said looking outside.

“I’ll cook us some supper, how does macaroni and cheese sound?”

“Sounds good, I’ll cut up some hotdogs to throw in.”

They ate supper listening to some Dierks Bentley music and then went to bed. The next few days went by in a flash for the girls. Softball, school, projects, and friends took quiet a bit of time. That Thursday they looked at Gizmo’s papers again. This time they found a little more than they thought they would.

“Says something here about the note you found and after school that time,” Alex said opening up to where they left off from their last visit though the documents.

“What’s it say about after school,” asked Jasmine.

“Says here that we wanted to stay after and Gizmo agreed to disconnect the cameras for us and says I fainted. Then he says here something weird was messing with the computer he was at in the upstairs computer lab. His exact words here are; I decided to update my entry log since nobody was around and I seen something was trying to get into my files so I saved and locked my files and restarted. My files all came back okay but…” Alex stopped.

            “But what?”
“The log ends there.”

“It must have been when he was sucked into the computer when Dominique and I arrived,” Jasmine said looking though some more papers, “Here’s a list of the main suspects.”

“Ryan Thor, Ethan Odin, Antonio Poseidon, age thirteen.”

“Well rule out Antonio. So the main suspects are Ryan and Ethan.”

“Sounds like it.”

“Why them though he has no evidence to back it up.”

“True Jasmine. But what if we just haven’t found it yet.”

            “Possible.”

“Let’s get ready for bed we still have one more day of school this week,” Alex said.

“Yeah okay,” Jasmine replied gathering blankets.

Everyone was talking about Antonio’s death and even made the front page of the local newspaper. Alex and Jasmine could hardly stand it. Dominique, Bryant, Cole, and Daniel supported them so they wouldn’t break apart.
