Night School

“Explain again what you want to do,” Bryant said.

“How many times do I have to tell you? Do you guys ever get it through your heads the first twelve times you’re told,” said Alex annoyed.

“Actually it takes exactly thirteen times.”

“Very funny Dominique but fine, I would have thought you would be sick of hearing it by now. But I’ll explain again. We want you guys to stay the night after school with us to see what is going on. We can ask Gizmo to disconnect the cameras around the school and I can hack into doors okay so we shouldn’t really have any problem,” Jasmine said.

            “Any food,” asked Bryant.

“Bring some what else,” said Alex trying hard not to laugh.

“You know you two get along pretty well,” Jasmine said.

“Shut up,” Alex and Bryant said together.

            “See,” Dominique and Jasmine replied.

They laughed and Bryant and Dominique agreed to help them with their scheme and then they went to talk to Gizmo. They found him in what they call his home, a computer.

“Hey Gizmo, will you do us a favor,” asked Dominique.

“Depends, what?”

“Think you could disconnect the cameras after school for us? We want to stay after to figure out what’s going on,” Jasmine said.

“That’s fourteen times Jasmine,” Dominique told her.

            “Fourteen what,” asked Gizmo.

“Fourteen times she has had to explain why were staying after.”

“Why did she have to explain it thirteen times before?”

“Because the boys were being stupid,” Alex said.

The bell rang for their first hour class and Alex and Jasmine were the first to the locker room when they found out the door was locked. Every now and then they would hear a noise in the top stage but they finally got in and as they were playing basketball they saw it.

“Alex come here, did you see that?”

“Yeah Jasmine, that figure standing in the boy’s locker room.”

“I wonder who it was. It’s to young to be a janitor here,” said Jasmine.

“Yeah and everyone is here today for class except Ryan and Ethan who are absent.”

“Those two give me the creeps.”

“Yeah well life is creepy, Jasmine,” replied Alex.

“Lets finish our games were going to win your team.”

“Yeah just like you lost the last one.”

“Times up lets go get changed and go to Choir and all that lovely stuff and crap.”

They wandered to Choir and Geography and by the time lunch came they were anxious for after school because of their ‘plans’ that night.

“Who brought food and flashlights,” asked Alex.

“Calm down for crying out loud, of course Bryant brought food and you were supposed to bring flashlights remember? I brought books I could find on ghosts and what not plus notebooks like you said Alex,” Jasmine said.

“Oh yeah the flashlights are in my bag. What about our parents then?”

“Bryant is at Dominique’s, your at my house, Dominique and I are at Antonio’s,” said Jasmine.

“What do we do if our parents call?”

“Antonio’s get it planned don’t worry.”

They went through lunch and Science with no problems. No one yet suspected anything. They met up at the playground after school because there were so many places to hide.

“I put tape on the latch so they wouldn’t lock. The Junior high doors are like that and one main door,” said Jasmine.

“I made sure that the gym and bathroom doors were taped as well,” replied Alex, “I got flashlights as well.”

“Parents are taken care of and Cameras will be disconnected at nine p.m.,” said Dominique.

“I got the food,” Bryant said.

“And,” Jasmine and Alex said together.

“And the camera, and the walkie-talkies,” replied Bryant.
“Were set now all we have to do is wait until nine.  Hey Dominique what time is it,” asked Jasmine

            “Exactly 8:59p.m.”

“In other words nine lets go.”

They went through he Junior High doors and went into a storage room to get ready. Bryant gave the girls a walkie-talkie and Alex gave them a flashlight. Each had a watch and pack of gum (you never know).

“Let’s meet back here at the storage at eleven okay? Set up the cameras in the gym, outside the bathroom, the hallways etcetera,” said Alex.

“You two are really into this ghost hunt aren’t you,” Bryant said.

“You didn’t hear? It was on the news last night,” started Jasmine.

“Not all of us watch the news morning and night Jasmine,” said Dominique.

“Anyhow a nearby town had a car accident yesterday,” Alex started.

“So it’s not that big of deal.”

“Yeah well the truck wasn’t running at all and it took off and ran right into the school. They almost ran over a couple of kids as well,” Alex went on.

“No one was around except the driver and the kids, the all said they had seen a figure,” said Jasmine.

“Who cares about some kid lets get moving we don’t have all night,” complained Bryant.

“Actually we have until noon tomorrow because that’s when the teacher workshop starts.”

Jasmine and Alex went to the Junior High gym while Bryant and Dominique went to the stage top where the girls first saw the figure.

“You ready, Alex?”

“Fine,” Alex said while she started shaking.

The spent a few minutes in there but nothing unusual happened.

            “So now what?”

“Well let’s contact Dominique and Bryant. Tell them our report then head to the girls’ locker room in the high school gym,” Jasmine said.

They radioed the guys but had no answer.

“Okay weird. Bryant should have the walkie-talkie.”

“Yeah,” Jasmine went on, “him or Dominique. Either their held up on something and lost their radio without noticing or, their playing a trick on us. Either or it sounds like them.”

“But they know how much this means to us.”

“It still really wouldn’t stop them.”

“Were almost there. Hard to believe we were just in here playing basketball against each other today,” Alex said.

            “Yeah. Now it’s dead silent.”

“Let’s try to guys again. If their still on top stage we’ll be right under them and if they did lose their radio we’ll find it by talking.”

“Okay. Here we are. Did you remember your pick?”

“Yeah Jasmine here,” said Alex handing her the paperclip.

“Let’s see…here we go,” Jasmine said pushing the door open, “open sesame.”

They wandered around and kept trying to boys and still no answer. They checked out every locker picking locks and searching showers. The last place they looked was the bathroom and nothing came up.

“Well that was a waste,” Jasmine said.

“What about that stall,” asked Alex pointing across the room.

“Oh please. No one uses that stall because it reeks and is crap.”

“Precisely,” replied Alex.

“Fine if it makes you feel better.”

They opened the stall and found nothing. Then all of a sudden the lights flickered and as they looked back to the stall and saw a girl hanging upside down, eyes bulging out and soaked in blood. They screamed and as they were running out of the locker room they ran straight into Dominique and Bryant.

“Whoa slow down there speedy,” said Dominique.

“A dead girl, bathroom stall, hanging upside down,” Jasmine said panting.

“Yeah right. Just trying to make us believe you. You do go to drastic measures don’t you,” said Bryant

“No we really did see something,” Alex started, “please you just have to…”

“Alex,” the three said together as she fainted.

“What’s wrong with her,” asked Gizmo coming up behind them.

“What are you doing here,” stated Jasmine.

“What do you mean what am I doing here. I was supposed to disconnect the cameras remember? I just forgot to earlier. The lights flickered as I was erasing the video already on them. So what’s up with her?”

“We saw a dead girl hanging upside down with blood dripping everywhere. But we only saw it after the lights flickered,” said Jasmine.

“So they say,” retorted Bryant.

            “Well you go look than.”

“Were not going into the girl’s locker room. No way.”

“Well than believe what we have to say,” Jasmine said.

“Quit arguing you two,” Dominique said, “Alex is starting to wake up.”
